Sklar's® Sims Vaginal Retractor is a handheld retractor used primarily for vaginal retraction and exposure. This retractor is available as a single or double-ended instrument with the blades always curved at right angles. This product has a single blade. The handle is not distinctly separate from the working end of the instrument and is essentially a continuous piece of stainless steel. There is a slight curve at the base of the handle for finger placement. The blade is inserted into the vagina to retract the anterior wall so that the posterior wall can be viewed. The blade is trough shaped, which serves to catch and drain blood or fluid that may exit the surgical site. This product is the large Sims retractor with a blade measuring 3-1/2" x 1-1/2". View Less
