Kelly Wireform Hemostatic Forceps are primarily used for clamping large blood vessels or manipulating heavy tissue. They may also be used for soft tissue dissection. They are available curved or straight. Similar to Rankin forceps, the jaws of Kelly Forceps are 1/3 the length of the shanks and serrations are 1/2 the length of the jaws, however, Kelly forceps are shorter and heavier than Rankin forceps. Wireform forceps are non-ratcheted and will require manual clamping if used as a hemostat. The finger ring handle is simplistic in nature and created by bending a roll of gauged steel into the shape of loops. Wire forming is a common, cost effective process.
