Sklar's® Dechamps ligature carrier is used for guiding suture material into difficult to reach areas or deep muscle and tissue. It is frequently used in vaginal surgeries where the unique angle and curvature of the tip allows the user to place lateral ligatures. The tip of the instrument may be sharp or blunt, and curved for either right or left hand. Both styles are sharp enough to penetrate tough tissue, but not cause damage to surrounding vessels.
